The Southside Livestock Evaluation Team is now certified in Beef Cattle Artificial Insemination  The team traveled to the Lewis Livestock Auction in Conway to attend a 3 day training October 24-26. The team were the only teenagers in attendance as its geared more towards adults, and developing productive beef cattle operations utilizing Artificial Insemination. The cost for attendance is $500 per participant but due to the large fundraising profits of the Fruit, Meat, and Cookie sale the FFA account provided $150 per student. The team feels this “Crash Course in the beef industry” is a integral piece in winning another state championship in livestock evaluation and most importantly the schools first national championship. Southside won the state championship in 2011 and was second in 2012.

Team Members include Cassie Womack, Sarah Howard,Hayden Hughes, Morgan Case, Tyler Hurst, Ashton Clark,Nathan Richardson, and Wiley Phillips.
