Robert Stephens Memorial Scholarship Ronata Memorial
|
Ronata Memorial Ronata Newberry-Woodbridge was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing at 9:02 a.m. on April 19, 1995. This was the worst terrorist attack on American soil until September 11, 2001. The Ronata Memorial was constructed and placed on the Southside High School Campus. We will forever remember Ronata a true Southerner Spirit who lived life with adventure. Ronota Ann Newberry-Woodbridge, daughter of Ron and Beth Newberry, grew up in a good family home life. Perhaps, there was a bit more curiosity and quest for adventure than in the average home environment. She liked the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing. While in school she was not only a member of several clubs, organizations and her church--she was active in each of them. Ronata was a graduate from Southside High School in May of 1981. Ronata married Gary Woodbridge in August of 1986.
The memorial structure erected in memory of Ronota Ann Newberry-Woodbridge is located on the campus grounds of the Southside School #3, 70 Scott Drive in Batesville, Arkansas. The structure is of iron and painted red in resemblance of a bridge. The bridge-like configuration reflects Ronota's interests and chosen profession in Civil Engineering and interest in architectural supports, the compatibility and strengths with the soil.
